The Halkidiki peninsula is the most beautiful prefecture of Central Macedonia and it borders with the prefecture of Thessalonica on the northern part, the Strymonikos gulf on the eastern part, the Aegean ocean on the southern part and the Thermaikos gulf on the western part.
Gifted with unique natural beauty the prefecture of Halkidiki pulses with crystal clear waters, sandy coasts and secluded gulfs that alternate with imposing mountains, verdurous valleys and fertile plains.
The prefecture of Halkidiki is an ideal tourist resort all through the year. In the summer, the magnificent beaches of the coastal settlements throb with visitors, while during wintertime, the traditional mountainous villages pulse with tourism.

The festival of the sardine during July, at Nea Moudania.
The cultural events in memory of the holocaust of Kassandra on November the 14th, at the village of Kassandra.
The sailing across the Toroneos gulf on July, the carnival and the celebration of Shrove Monday at Nikiti.
The several saints festival at every village of the prefecture.
At Poligiros and Arnea you can find extraordinary weavings, while at the villages of Kassandra and Sithonia you can buy thyme honey.
Poligiros is a beautiful town with a wonderful climate, where the houses are spread amphitheatrically on the slopes of Prophet Elias among running waters and revitalizing parks. Additionally, the town of Poligiros offers a magnificent view to the three unique peninsulas of Halkidiki, Kassandra, Sithonia and Athos.

Kallithea is a much frequented tourist resort with numerous hotels, taverns, cafeterias, bars and superb sandy beaches with crystal waters. Kallithea is the region where the famous sanctuary of Ammon Zeus is located.

Neos Marmaras
The region of Neos Marmaras, located at Sithonia peninsula, is a very attractive tourist resort.

The town of Ouranoupolis is a traditional settlement that has been declared scheduled and it is renowned for its sandy coast and the clear waters.

Sarti is a beautiful coastal village at the Sithonia peninsula.

Haniotis is a popular resort of the Kassandra peninsula located at a very preferential site.

Kriopigi is an amazing coastal village located on the eastern part of the Kassandra peninsula, in the heart of a very verdant site.



Athos is the most eastern peninsula of the prefecture of Halkidiki and it is an untrodden landscape that throbs with wooded mountains and leeward voes of unrivaled natural beauty. Athos is a separate monastic state with 20 exclusively male monasteries built in the heart of this secluded area that is called Agion Oros.
From Halkidiki you can go to Thessalonica by ferry, while from the town of Moudania you can visit Thessalonica or the Sporades cluster. From Ierissos and Ouranoupolis, there are daily boat itineraries for the monasteries of Athos.
